azariah

A friend just gave birth to a boy and named him Azariah and it reminded me of when i nearly added it to my National Identity. Hmmm i have done things for love!

There was this quiet beauty; slim , tender,  light skinned able to flood all LED bulbs in the boy's wing. She had been allowed to keep her hair which enabled her stand out more in our S1 class-2003. Asasira Brenda Pearl-ABP (Miss Earth Uganda 2015) was in S1B and used to walk past my stream(S1A) about 4 times every day.  Yours truly booked the front seat next to the window and ensured a clear view of this top beauty. I knew when she was headed for the canteen, notice board, lunch hour and would sometimes wait longer until she walked back to the dormitory. This stalking went on unnoticed until i temporarily modified my names to Azariah Byamukama Paul to rhyme with her highness. All my books started baring the initials ABP!  

Unfortunately she changed schools before i even threw in word and there wasn't much later when we reconnected at uni. 

But Azariah is a great name friend, it means Helped by God or God helps but clearly he doesn't help lustful men!

Welcome to the world baby Azariah.

Shimon Mbabazi Aijuka (1994–2026) was laid to rest today, Sunday 15th February 2026, having finished his race and, by all testimony, lived a full and God-honoring life. I had the privilege of sharing space with him on just two occasions. First encounter: The weekend of 6th May 2023, when we both served as groomsmen. I’ve chosen my best photo with him from that function — he is the dignified and joyful gentleman to my right. Oh, dear John MacArthur !

What a man. What a legacy. What global influence. And what faithfulness to preaching the Word of God. I want to join the many others who admired him by sharing how he personally influenced me. It was Allan Ashabahebwa who first mentioned him to me during a game night session. When Friends Abandon Christ

It grieves my soul deeply to witness some of my friends walk away from the Lord. Over the years, I’ve encountered many who have drifted from the faith—each with different reasons and circumstances. For clarity’s sake, I’ve grouped them into two broad categories: ⸻ Category 1: The Cold or Atheistic These are friends who show no interest in Jesus Christ or anything related to godliness. They do not attend church and appear fully absorbed in worldly pursuits. I still reach out, trusting that the Lord—who alone opens hearts and draws people to Himself—will do His saving work.
